For over 20 years Dwayne has advocated on behalf of historically excluded communities for economic justice and full inclusion in economic prosperity, with a focus on eliminating poverty, preventing displacement, and supporting anti-racism initiatives. His organizing and advocacy efforts over the last 2 decades earned him the moniker, Rebel With A Cause.

Dwayne has served on several community and city commissions focused on economic opportunity, tax equity, reparations, and neighborhood advocacy. He currently serves on Providence's Sustainability Commission, advancing environmental and climate justice initiatives.

IN ACTIVE SERVICE BENEFITING PROVIDENCE

Dwayne is the founder of D Key Solution, a consulting firm specializing in community engagement, facilitation, equitable community development and economic mobility. Through his work, he has helped residents shape decisions on neighborhood revitalization, housing, economic inclusion, and redevelopment projects, including leading community engagement for the future redevelopment of the former Urban League site on Prairie Avenue. As former Chair of the South Providence Neighborhood Association, Dwayne also led community efforts on housing, transit equity, development, and quality-of-life issues affecting the Southside.

MY EXPERTISE ROOTED IN A CAREER IN FINANCIAL SERVICES

Dwayne works at Compass Working Capital, a nonprofit dedicated to helping families build financial stability and wealth. Since joining Compass in 2017, he has advanced from financial coach to Director of Programs, where he leads a national team supporting over 900 families across 16 states and Washington, D.C. Prior to Compass, Dwayne spent 13 years in banking and financial services, building expertise in customer service, relationship management, and financial empowerment.
